“L’Abruzzo abbraccia il ciclismo,” he said.

This Italian region loves cycling as a real sports activity.

On Sunday, October 1st more than 100 international riders kicked off for a marvellous bike tour on one of the most beautiful and highest parts of the Abruzzo region in Italy. Think of broad flat and hilly areas surrounded by high mountains peaks. Uno spettacolo!

Ovindoli, Rocca di Mezzo and Celano just to name a few towns are all worthwhile visiting both during summer and winter. The October temperature was mild enough to enjoy this tour and trophy with under 23 elite teams and their shiny pro bikes.

Once a professional athlete, always a sportsperson – you could say. And there we went off with so many important coaches on board of this giro a.o. Franco Chioccioli, Giro d’Italia winner in 1991.

Director Enzo Amantini and Mister Umberto Di Giuseppe kept an eye on the timing and made sure the event went as smooth as a nice downhill. We reported both in photos and video, stay tuned on our YouTube channel to (re)watch it from the first row.
